Study Abroad Program- Public Health Research Institute of India
Greetings from the Public Health Research Institute of India,
I hope you are doing well. I’m reaching out to share an exciting opportunity for your students to gain hands-on experience in public health and medical research through the Public Health Research Institute of India (PHRII, www.phrii.com ). Our areas of work include reproductive health and cancer prevention, non-communicable disease mitigation, aging, and environmental health. We are an NIH training site and a Global Health Equity Scholarship site.
This summer, PHRII is offering a Three-week immersive undergraduate internship program where students can explore public health in action, particularly in low-resource settings. This program provides an opportunity to engage directly with health systems, research projects, and local communities, all while gaining valuable insights into the workings of healthcare in India.
The program includes:
- Guided tours of medical colleges, Ayurvedic College, and rural health centers
- Hands-on experience in the medical laboratory, including DNA extraction and PCR techniques
- In-depth learning about Breast and Cervical Cancer, mental health, adolescent health, and more

- Excursions to local health facilities and the Elephant Rehabilitation Center
- And much more!
We’ve designed the program to ensure that students learn from experts and actively contribute to ongoing projects, making a real impact.
